Showering our Guests with Hope

Two years ago we were able to provide just over 1,100 showers for guests, now we are providing almost 4,500 showers annually for our guests through our on-site showers and through our partnership with Lava Mae Los Angeles.

We have been experiencing an increased demand for our shower program as access to free, safe showers in our community is very limited. In fact, St. Francis Center is the only facility where homeless guests can take a shower south of the 10 freeway in Los Angeles all the way down to Huntington Park.

Through our Health & Hygiene Services, SFC is able to provide the shower program four days a week on site and through our partnership with Lava Mae, who has been providing a mobile shower unit on site once a week, in addition to case management through the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority and People Assisting the Homeless (PATH). Clothing and hygiene kits, which include basic toiletries, new underwear, socks, and towels, also are distributed during the shower program.

Our shower program is just one of our comprehensive services that goes above and beyond hunger relief to help improve the overall health and stability of our homeless guests.
