ABOUT ALICIA MORENO

Alicia, mother of four, and her family live in the low-income neighborhoods surrounding St. Francis Center. Her family emigrated from El Salvador to escape the violence and corruption in her native country during the 12-year civil war. One day three years ago, she and her husband saw our guests in line for services and reached out for help. She registered with our pantry services and then during the holidays, Alicia and her family also received extra support through St. Julie’s special holiday basket distribution on site at St. Francis Center. Since then she also has competed in our TOP TAMALE competition and given back by volunteering. “My family and I have experienced hunger firsthand. I’m proud to now represent the organization that supported us during the most difficult part of my life when we needed it most and now I want to do the same for others in our community,” said Alicia. Alicia’s favorite pastimes are cooking and spending time with her family. SFC is excited to now welcome Alicia as one of the newest members of the SFC staff as custodian.
