Joanna, our new Resource Services Assistant!

Where are you from? Where did you go to school? What did you study (degree earned)? Any other background info you want to share?

I am from Pomona, CA. I went to Citrus College and later transferred to the University of California of Riverside. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. 

Where did you work before SFC?

I am a recent graduate and mainly was a full time student. 

How did you hear about SFC?

I heard about SFC on Idealist which focuses on non-profit organizations. 

Why did you want to work here? What specific skills are you excited to bring to your position at SFC? 

It has been my career goal to work in a non-profit organization that addresses systemic discrimation. I believe SFC works alongside prevalent systemic discrepancies found till today. I am very excited to bring my advocacy philosophy and organizational skills to SFC. 

What about our mission appeals to you?

In regard to the mission of SFC, I find it critically important how it serves as a community of hope. SFC ensures the acceptance of all individuals and advocates for those who are served. 

What are your favorite pastimes?

My favorite pastimes are reading poetry, hiking, and drawing. 

What is your hope for the future of SFC and our community?

My hope for SFC is that it continues to grow within our community and gains more support to extend more help for individuals.
