SFC’s Volunteer Spotlight ~ Khela!

Khela started volunteering at SFC last week! Due to an injury, he is currently on leave from his local employer but has started volunteering at SFC through their transitional work program. Now until he has fully recovered he will be helping out regularly as part of the program!

His favorite part about volunteering at SFC is getting the chance to help people. With homelessness on the rise in Los Angeles, Khela believes it is important that we are helping meet people’s needs.

He also enjoys seeing the hustle and bustle of the center, seeing the interactions between guests, volunteers, and staff. “I love seeing the smiles on guests’ faces, because SFC feels like a home for them.”

He hopes in the future that SFC will continue to grow and help more people in the community.

In his free time, he likes going on walks and working in his backyard.
